Campus Smoking Policy
In compliance with the State of Utah Clean Air Act, smoking is prohibited in all Dixie State College buildings and within twenty-five (25) feet of all buildings on campus.
Region VIII Property Gun & Weapons Policy for Acting Scenes
1. No guns that can actually be discharged or knives blade that could actually cut will be allowed for use during the Ryan Audition.
2. The gun must look like a toy gun. Region VIII has a zero tolerance policy for any prop gun or weapon that may resemble & be mistaken for an actual, real weapon.
3. There should also be a brightly colored cap at the end of the barrel of the gun. This can be achieved by using brightly colored tape. Any knife blade shall be dulled.
4. At NO time should this ‘fake’ weapon be carried around campus. It must be stored securely. All prop weapons must be concealed in a container and only revealed when inside the class room, rehearsal or performance space. After use, the ‘fake’ weapon must be return to the container an transported away & secured by the student.
This policy is to insure that at no time could any one mistake the ‘fake’ weapon as a real weapon. Also, that the student acts responsibly when bringing this weapon to & from campus.
