This scene from “Tintinnabulations” is a depiction of Edgar Allan Poe as he relives
the writing of perhaps his most popular work, THE RAVEN (published January
1845). At this point in Poe’s life he is coping with the death of a wife. Poe was
known for erratic behavior thought to have been caused by excessive drinking. The
Raven is considered to be a "Mournful and Never-ending Remembrance."
